Free browser tools for looking up public social media IDs and saving public media. No account, no installs.
What FindUid.net is
FindUid.net is a collection of small, single-purpose web tools. Each one takes a public social media link or username, asks the platform for the information that is already public, and shows you the result — most often the numeric user ID (UID) behind a profile, page or group, or a direct link to a public video or image so you can save it.
Everything runs in your browser against our server. There is nothing to install, no browser extension, and you never sign in to a social network through us. We never ask for your password, your session cookie, or any kind of access token for your own accounts.

How the tools work, at a high level
- You paste a public profile URL, post URL or username into the form.
- Our server normalises that input into a canonical URL and sends a request to the platform — the same request your browser would make when you open the page while signed out.
- We read the public identifier or public media URL out of that response and show it to you.
- Results for a given URL are cached on our side so that repeating the same lookup is instant and puts less load on the platform. See the Privacy Policy for what that cache contains.
Public data only
We only read what the platform already serves to anyone who is not logged in. If content is not visible to the public, it is not visible to us either.
We do not, and cannot:
- open a private or locked account, or a follower-only profile;
- read private messages, friend lists that are hidden, or private groups;
- recover a password, unlock a disabled account, or bypass two-factor authentication;
- reveal the email address or phone number behind an account;
- download content that has been deleted or made private.
Honest limits
- These tools depend on how Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and YouTube serve their pages. When a platform changes something, a tool can break without warning. We fix them when we notice or when someone reports it — but we cannot promise uptime for a free service.
- Rate limits apply. If you hammer a tool, you will be throttled, and some tools ask you to solve a reCAPTCHA first.
- FindUid.net is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Meta Platforms, Instagram, TikTok, X Corp. or Google/YouTube. See the Terms of Service.
- You are responsible for what you do with anything you look up or download. Respect copyright, privacy, and each platform's own terms.
